Author Bio

Dr. Jimmy Tidmore is an award-winning author, speaker, and lifelong Alabamian. He grew up in Gardendale, Alabama, and spent fourteen years as a programmer and web developer before answering a call to ministry. He served as the pastor of a small church in Huntsville, Alabama for thirteen years, earning a Doctor of Ministry in Christian Preaching from Beeson Divinity School at Samford University along the way.
He began writing books during his years in pastoral ministry—not because he set out to become an author, but because his son Jet was struggling to find books he wanted to read. Jimmy knew exactly what Jet would read, so he wrote it. That first book began The Hunt Club Kids Series, a middle-grade outdoor adventure series now spanning eight books that has found its way into schools, libraries, and homes across the country.
The series follows a group of boys as they navigate hunting seasons, friendships, and the lessons that only the outdoors can teach. Jimmy writes about the outdoors because he believes time in the woods—pursuing game, learning patience, sitting in silence—has a way of drawing families together and pointing hearts toward Someone bigger than themselves. His books are carefully crafted to help parents shepherd the hearts and minds of their children.
Jimmy is a two-time POMA Pinnacle Award recipient. He lives in Alabama with his wife and their two children.
